Certified Organic Raw Milk

Got Certified Organic Milk?

Sunny Cove Farm is a small grass based family dairy farm producing high quality milk since 1977 in Alfred, New York. Dotty and Jerry Snyder transitioned to organic milk production in 2002 and are certified by the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York (NOFA-NY Certified Organic, LLC) for organic cow and goat milk, organic beef, organic goat meat, organic maple syrup, organic triticale, and organic apples.

Horizon Organic recognized Sunny Cove Farm for their exceptional milk quality in 2003, 2004, 2005 and Jerry was honored to be a workshop presenter on producing quality milk at the NOFA-NY Certified Organic, LLC 24th annual conference in Syracuse, NY. From October 1, 2006 to June 30th 2016 Sunny Cove farm shipped our milk to Organic Valley.

Many people have come to the farm desiring to purchase raw milk, so after meeting all New York State requirements, on January 13, 2006 we were granted a permit to sell certified organic raw milk by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets. This permit required enrollment in Quality Milk Production Services, which tests to certify that the milk is free from all pathogens.

We are pleased to offer to the public certified grass-fed organic raw milk at the farm, 1444 Randolph Road Alfred Station, New York, 14803, on Tuesday and Friday afternoons from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

We offer ½ gallon glass wide mouth Ball canning jars for sale to provide a green and clean container. The jars are $2.50 each and can be cleaned and re-used. The glass also ensures the freshest flavor. The current price is $6 per gallon and $4 per half gallon.

Raw milk has not been pasteurized or homogenized and contains all the food value created by healthy grazing cows. Organic Raw Milk means - No Hormones, No Antibiotics, No Steroids - from Grass fed, Organically Raised cows. For more information on the advantages and benefits of raw milk, go to WestonAPrice.org.

On May 1st 2016 Sunny Cove completed the transition to a 100% grass-fed dairy herd, and on July 1st 2016 we began shipping milk to Maple Hill Creamery. Maple Hill sources all of their grass-fed milk from about 70 family owned dairy herds in New York State with the average Maple Hill Dairy milking 55 cows compared to the New York state average of 112 milking cows. Our milk is processed to make grass-fed cream top yogurt, drinkable yogurt, Greek yogurt, kefir and 4 different cheeses. The yogurt is even available at the Wellsville N.Y. Tops and Hornell N.Y.
